My Ink is Out, GREAT

Hey I know a lot of people who have had issues replacing ink cartridges so I have decided to make it a little easier. First thing you should do is know is what printer yo have, seeing as all printers work a little differently. The one I used is an Epson Stylus NX110. The next step is to find out what type of ink is compatible with your computer. This can be found on a sticker on the printer or in the instructions manual. If you don’t or can’t find it there then a simple google search should give you a good direction. the one used for my printer is 88 if bought on the Epson website and if brought at a store the # on the cartridge should be 69. Once you have all of this your ready to start.

new cartridge

If you have all that press play and here we go :

Hope this is helpful!!!

I would say that I didn’t like the concept of my tutorial and because I didn’t have all the materials I needed to complete the tutorial I feel like I faile to help anyone. I think that for what I had I did the best I could and I think that the video flowed pretty well. All and all I could have done alot better and with more time I could have been more perpared. Maybe I would have come up with a better how to to show.I did the best I could do with the materials and time I had.

Tutorials probably one of the most helpful and popular things on the internet today, especially for our visual learners. I believe people share their process with others because they feel they can help others understand their way better. Even though there is probably more than one video tutorial, showing you the same things, its still different. Everyone has their own unique way of explaining a procedure.

As for my Tutorial, I think I did a pretty good job, since half the cookies are already gone.I definitely found this exciting, this experience was a little more  personal, because my parents were surprised to see me in the kitchen. I really hope you guys will try it because its really yummy.

Man Kitchen 101: Cooking without cooking

Greetings and salutations!!! As I am not a very talented craftsman I decided to make something in the only place I truly know how (the kitchen). Here is a step by step post on how to make my famous (in my  own home) chicken salad.

First the ingredients:

two eggs, relish, mayonnaise, chicken, and some seasoning

Brands of course are not important but for of course I chose to use some of my favorites. Some people may choose to add onions celery or even red pepper flakes their chicken salad. As I am not a huge fan of any of these food items I left these items out.

First boil the two eggs on a medium flame. This will roughly take a half hour. After boiling allow the eggs to sit in cool water for several minutes.

After peeling the shell off your ready to add your first ingredient, the chicken. Open your can of chicken and place it into a bowl. Be careful not to cut yourself.

After adding the chicken it is time to add your eggs. Use a bitter knife to cut the egg into pieces as you place it into the bowl

The next ingredient we will add is the relish. Personally I like to add around 1 1/2 fork full of relish, but adjust according to your own preference

I know it looks delicious but we must put the final touch of seasoning first. Resist the urge to eat right away. With just a pinch of seasoning your ready for the last step MIXING. Use your fork to mix the ingredients together. Be sure to break the chicken and egg into smaller pieces while you mix

How To Wire A Simple Series LED Circuit

Hello Everyone! A few years ago, I studied Electronics Technology and while I did that I enjoyed wiring circuits. Below I share with you a video in which I illustrate the steps I used to wire a simple series LED circuit using a breadboard.

The most surprising thing about making this instructional video was how long it took me to organize and finally explain the simple steps involved with the circuit. In my mind I know exactly how to connect the circuit but explaining it to other people in a video is another story for me. I’m glad I made this video because It allows me to see what I need to correct before I can instruct anyone about anything. My future work is all about teaching so I need lots of practice and I realize the best way for me right now is through making instructional videos. However, for it being my first video tutorial, I feel that it was good and I’m hopeful that it will assist someone.

  4. Use the same frying pan in which we cooked the bacon (adds flavor) to fry the sandwich.  Make sure to add a little cooking spray to the frying pan to prevent sticking.

A Little Taste of Heaven :)

Oreos Chocolate Truffles <3

Hello Everyone.

After giving a lot of thoughts, I came up with the idea of making Chocolate Truffles😀

I use to make them a lot but sadly there would ever be any left for me in the fridge! They seem to disappear VERY fast. I remember the first time my brother and I made Chocolate truffles, it was like HEAVEN! It is so delicious; we would eat one (or maybe more than just one) after every meal. The first time we ever tried it was at our cousin’s place and I remember asking them where they had gotten it from? My cousin -Marium’s response was –“I made it.” I looked at her like she was 3 headed, saying she’s lying! But she did not lie: x

Of course, I had to ask her how she made it. She ended up giving me the whole recipe and how to make it in complicated steps. At first, it did sound complicated. When my brother and I finally decided to make it ourselves, it was not actually too bad. When you get extra hand, things get done a lot faster. You won’t even imagine that they are made out of OREO!!

Now that I have your attention 🙂

Let me list down the materials and tools you would need

  • Oreos– It can be the regular kind or the double stuffed
  • Cream Cheese– Any would do, however I prefer Philadelphia Cream Cheese
  • –  Hershey Chocolate– Come on what else is better? If you prefer another type- go ahead and use that.
  • Aluminum foil– Just a sheet would do.
  • Tray– Any, you can even use plates if you’d want
  • Bowl– Nothing too big.
  • Spoons– You will need two spoons; this would be used for mixing and dipping.
  • Food processor– Any kind that’ll crunch the Oreos.

Step 1– Blend the Oreos in the food processor until they are fine like powder

Step 2– Place it in the bowl- put in the cream cheese and mix it either using spoon or your hands- Until dough is formed.

Step 3– Take a little ball and roll them up and place it on your tray or plate

Step 4– Put them in the freezer for about 10 minutes.

Step 5– Melt your chocolate in the bowl

Step 6– Take out the frozen Oreos balls from the freezer and drop them in the melted chocolate bowl one by one

Step 7– Using your spoon toss is around to cover it in chocolate

Step 8– Place it on your tray; make sure to place the aluminum foil sheet on the tray first

Step 9 – You’re done! 😀 Put them back in the fridge to let the chocolate harden a little

Step 10– Enjoy the little taste of Heaven!!

The Main recipe- Oreos, Hersheys Chocolate and Cream Cheese

Drop the Oreos in your food processor

Blend them until they are crunched up nicely

Put the crunched Oreos in your bowl and add in your cream cheese. Mix them with a spoon or your hands.

Mix them until you get a dough

Take little bit of the dough and make them into a ball. ( Pretend it’s play-doh :P)

Get your Hershey Chocolate into another bowl

Melt them. ( Microwave it 30-40 seconds)

Gently dip the little Oreos Ball into your bowl of chocolate. Cover it nicely and then place it on your tray or plate.

Your hard work is now done.

But before munching on them- Put them in the fridge for about half and hour – so that way the chocolate hardens.

then SERVE!! 🙂

There are a lot of tutorials on the internet by regular people that just enjoy what they do and want to share how they did it. I think the reason why people do this is to be able to get their ideas and talents out there. I strongly think what compels them to be able to do this would be the support of someone. It can really be anyone. It can either be their friends or family- even teachers. Just like how my Instructor- Professor Smith got us to make something and be able to present it on our blog.

I think I did pretty well on my “project.” Although, it did not really seem like a “project” because I was having fun with it. I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY so since I was making my chocolate truffles and taking PICTURES, it was quite awesome!  I really hope people find my steps easy. It is not as complicated as it may look and trust me- your “hard work” will be worth it!!!

How to crochet a headband

I have been crocheting since I was 15 years old, It’s a hobby of mine and I find it very therapeutic and relaxing.  It calms me and relieves the stress.  It provides me with a sense of accomplishment when I complete a certain project.  It also gives me a way to express myself and make something unique and meaningful for others.

Overall I am pleased with my video because I’ve never done a tutorial before.  It was pretty tough trying to record because I had my three children at home, that’s why there is so much noise in the background.  If I could change anything, it would be the angle of the video camera, a head view would have been better to follow.  Just want to thank my children especially my five year old daughter, Salma, for proudly wearing all of my creations!

Crafty Wall Art!

Do you ever wonder of interesting ways to liven up your bare, boring walls? Well I got the idea of putting toilet paper rolls to use by creating a fun wall decoration. I decided to share this floral art tutorial because it is not only inexpensive, simple, and fun, but can also be done from right at home because most of the materials needed can be found around the house. The final result of this project is pretty impressive and it will motivate you to think outside of the box.

Tools Needed:

  • 8-10 Toilet Paper Roll
  • Plastic bag
  • A pack of Bobby Pins
  • Spray Paint (color of your choice)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

1. Find all of the materials and place them on an empty workspace. You can substitute some of the tools. For example instead of bobby pins use paper clips. If you do not have spray paint, nail polish or acrylic paint can also be used. If toilet paper rolls are not available towel paper rolls may also be used.  Hot glue, crazy glue or just a regular all purpose glue can be used. Be creative with it.

2. Grab your roll and flatten it so it can be easily cut. Take your scissor and be prepared to cut your roll into 6 even pieces.

3. Here it shows the cutting results. This is how the flower petals should look like.

4. Take the petals one by one and glue one corner on each petal until you get your desired flower.

5. Clip all your petals together with the bobby pins until you form a 5 petal flower. Secure the petals well with the pins so you would not have a distorted flower.

6. Once the glue is completely dried, the flower should not fall apart. Repeat steps 2-5 to create more flowers. Place your flowers on the plastic bag and begin spray painting the flowers with your color of preference. Then let each flower sit and dry separately.

7. Voila! Finally, glue all your flowers in any pattern you like. To add stems or other designs to your creation, use your cutout scraps. Now put up your decoration on the wall and show off your re-useable technique!

Once I completed my wall creation, I realized how convenient it was since I did not have to go out to buy one, but instead made it on my own and it turned out to be an entertaining activity as well. This craft project actually turned out better than I thought it would and now I can stand back and admire the re-useable toilet paper roll art I made. I feel excited about sharing this tutorial because this way i can help others think of similar art ideas and maybe this can encourage others to create their own decorations. My favorite part of the making process is being able to personalize it any way I please and making it more “me”. I hope others can give this art idea a try and realize how enjoyable it can be to make something from scratch.

This Shirt Needs Some Serious ‘Swag’

Colgate Women’s Games comes around once a year. For us track runners, this is the time of year to meet with nemeses on the track. Faced with the goal of running hard enough to make it to the finals at Madison Square Garden where the price is a killer track suit to show off, prize money to go towards our schooling and OF COURSE the most important, bragging rights.

As the runners prepare for the eventful weeks of warm-up, drills, cramps, sweat and even tears trust that those aren’t the only problems. Each runner is handed a shirt for the games. Unfortunately, it’s just a tee. Not sexy, not flattering for beastly track runners obsessed with their abs. Runners come prepared with scissors and creativity to make their shirt their own. Here’s how you put some swag in your shirt.

Here’s what you will need:

1. Any T-shirt (short or long sleeve)

2. A pair of scissors

3. A marker (optional)

First, lay shirt flat and cut off the sleeves one at a time.

Next grab your maker and draw a line from one side to the next to shorten the length of your shirt and cut it off like this:

After, make eight horizontal cuts to each side of the shirt.

Now cut each strip at the edge in half in order to be able to make the knots later on.

It’s time to tie the knots now. Your shirt should look like the image below after this step.

‘Swagging’ the neck is an optional step.

Pick up your marker. Outline the neck of the shirt and cut it to make it wider neck line.

One last snip on each side right under the armpits, tie your two knots and your shirt is ready to be worn and modeled.

 Swag-a-licious! Now you try it!

How to Make Payesh or Rice Pudding

Payesh or Rice Pudding

Hey everyone, my name is Tanuja and I am from Bangladesh.  The picture above as you can see, is one of my favorite Bangladeshi desert.  It’s called Payesh in Bangladesh.  Most of the time it’s served as a desert, but you can eat this any time you want.  It’s tasty, healthy and very easy to make.  Today I will tell you how to make it at home.  Let’s look at the ingredients first.

Milk (Bottom Left), Kalijira Aromatic Rice(Bottom Right), Sugar(Top Left), Bay Leaf, Cinnamon stick. Raisins and sliced Almond (Top Right) for garnishing.

Ingredients: We need 3 cups of whole milk, 1 cup of Kalijira aromatic rice, 1 cup of sugar, 1 bay leaf, 1 cinnamon stick, some raisins and sliced almond.  You can find the Kalijira Aromatic rice at any Bangladeshi or Indian grocery store.  The reason I used this rice is because it has a very nice fragrance.  If you can not find this rice use any parboiled rice.

Step 1. Pour the milk in to the pot

Step 1. At first in a medium pan pour the milk and turn the stove on a medium heat. Bring the milk into a boil.

Step 2. add the rice

Step 3. Add sugar

Step 4. Add cinnamon and bay leaf

Step 2. Then add rice,(don’t forget to wash the rice).

Step 3. Add sugar.

Step 4. Add bay leaf and cinnamon stick in to the milk one by one. Keep stirring.

Step 5. About this thickness

Step 5. Cook it for 25 minutes on medium heat.  Cook until the Payesh get thicker.

Make sure you always stand in front of the stove and stir it.  Otherwise the Payesh will overflow from the pot. If needed lower the heat. Once it gets thick turn the heat off.

Last Step. Garnish with sliced almond and raisins

Last Step. Now your Payesh is ready to serve.  Put the Payesh or the rice pudding on a medium bowl and garnish it with sliced almond and raisins. You can use any kind of nuts and dry fruits to garnish the Payesh, such as cashew nuts, Pistachio etc.

Isn’t really sweet and simple to make it?  Trust me you are going to love this.  This is so delicious.  My younger brother and sister love this desert.  Must try at home.
